With the rapid development of Internet, electronic commerce is becoming more and more popular bythe public. As a new type of transaction model, electronic commerce really gives a great convenience toconsumers. But at the same time, it also brings a lot of problems to the protection of consumers' rights andinterests because of its characteristics of virtual sex and openness. This makes consumers lose theirconfidence in electronic commerce, which hinder the healthy development of electronic commerce. Thisarticle mainly analyzes the problems of the protection of consumers' rights and interests in our country. Bydrawing the advanced experience of foreign countries, the article puts forward to some specific measures tobe able to protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers in electronic commerce and promote therapid development of electronic commerce.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this article consists of four major parts:The first part focuses on the basic issues of the protection of consumers' rights and interests. This partbriefly elaborates the concept, characteristics and categories of electronic commerce and analyzes thenecessities and the basic principles of protecting consumers' rights and interests in electronic commercewhich aims to provide the foundation for the following research.The second part describes the problems of the protection of consumers' rights and interests in ourcountry and the causes of these problems. This part analyzes the problems of consumers' five kinds ofbasic rights of security, information, free choice, fair trade, compensation in detail in our country'selectronic commerce and proposes several causes of these problems.The third part introduces the legislative practices of some foreign countries and the references to ourcountry. This part specially introduces the relevant legislations about OECD, European Union, American,Germany and Japan and summarizes the advanced experiences of these countries and internationalorganizations expecting to inspire our country.The fourth part gives some strategies of protecting consumers' rights and interests in our country. Inorder to solve the problems of consumers' five kinds of basic rights of security, information, free choice,fair trade, compensation, this part separately provides specific measures by absorbing the advanced experiences of foreign countries and combining with the realities of our country.
