With the deep development of the new curriculum reform of English, it occurred to be some weaknesses in the traditional classroom teaching models in senior high school:students have little interaction or action at all; in class, students just listen there most of time, little chance to speak out; it requires much time but little effect. This "dumb English" aiming only at examinations greatly limits the active interaction in English classroom. In the area of English education in China, it is a big difficulty to deal with increasing the students'realistic English level according to the new curriculum reform. How to motivate students'interests, improve students'active thinking is a key point.In traditional English teaching in senior high school, the one-way communication between teachers and students is the main part, especially the input from teachers to students. There is little interaction and cooperation in class, with teachers, the speakers and students passively received. It lacks the basic communication between teachers and students, students and students. So we should get rid of the traditional education concept, set up the newly-educated theories which are centered in students, emphasizing interactive classroom education. The New Curriculum Standards require that on the basic of building up and enlarging the English knowledge, it needs the improvement on students'spoken and written abilities, at the same time developing students'self-learning abilities. In the new reform, we should create the cooperative atmosphere, interactive teaching while students, as the main part; seek knowledge actively, not passively receiving them at all. This is a kind of progress.Daily English education is to develop students'communicative abilities on listening,speaking,reading and writing. Only through interactive teaching methods do we realize the communicative abilities improvement. Under the self-control,interactive and cooperative learning environment, students feel more interested in English and become more active.This article has analyzed the nowadays classroom teaching condition in senior high school. Through questionnaires,interviews,classroom observation, the author discusses the problems in the English teaching and raises some reasonable suggestions, hoping it is of use in the English reform to the senior high school.
