At the end of the twentieth century, the whiteboard technology is used around the world. Since2001, the interactive electronic whiteboard began popular owing to its unique advancement in education digital normalization process supported by constructivism theory and other theories. The previous studies mainly focus on the definitions, features, unique advantages and disadvantages of the interactive electronic whiteboard in English teaching. And some researchers learned that the adoption of the interactive electronic whiteboard can arouse the students’ interests and improve the learning efficiency.In this study, four paralleled teaching classes of Grade1, Tai’an No.l Senior High School taught by the author are selected randomly as the research subjects during the first two periods, two as the control classes and two as the contrast classes. During the third period, the study investigates220freshmen from three senior high schools in which classroom English teachings are using the interactive electronic whiteboard mixed with modern multimedia teaching.This thesis focuses on the study of the adoption of the interactive electronic whiteboard, including four dimensions:the interactions activities between the teacher and students, students and students, teacher and students and courseware; English teachers’ teaching skills with the whiteboard; student’s acceptance of the electronic whiteboard and the improvement of teaching effect under the interactive electronic whiteboard teaching.The collected data of this study is analyzed by SPSS19.0software, and the analysis includes the descriptive and quantities’ statistics, and the correlation of the relation between using the whiteboard and the improvement of the teaching effect. And the results are:(1)It is feasible and valid to use the interactive electronic whiteboard in senior high school classroom English teaching, and both the teacher and the students accept and like the new teaching model.(2)The interactive electronic whiteboard help achieve the interactions between teacher and students, and students and students, teacher and students and courseware in senior high school classroom English teaching, indicating the students to participate in the class activities actively.(3)The English teachers’teaching skills with the interactive electronic whiteboard and the students’ acceptance the whiteboard have some effects on the classroom English teaching and learning efficiency. In addition, the English effect is improved by the interactive electronic whiteboard which shows a lot of teaching advantages.There are five chapters in the thesis including the introduction, literature review, research methodology, results and discussion and conclusion.
