Sports new curriculum sticks to the thought of "health is the first" and aims at developing healthy awareness and body of students. It emphasizes that the students are the center of development to help students to learn knowledge, and pays attention to the students' movement, interests, shaping and developing of sports special skills. All of them lay a solid foundation of life-long sports. So it is essential to reform physical curriculum. Option education of physical class will light up senior physical curriculum reform. It will promote the enthusiasm about learning PE. It will also make the teachers of PE join in the reform actively. It is under the background that the no.1 middle school of Baogang reforms its physical education. According to the spirits of national committee, our school has formulated a set of sports teaching patterns, which mainly aims at option education, adding to some colorful extracurricular sports activities, to explore a suitable teaching pattern.The article firstly makes a survey on present PE teaching conditions and analyses it. Then, it analyses the shortcoming of traditional sports teaching. At last, it puts forward detailed methods and some ideas of option education. Compared with traditional teaching methods, reformed teaching methods have made great progress during the practical teaching. It can suit new teaching standards completely and motivates the students'interests of learning. We should develop and improve our teaching to make our school gain long-term progress. Besides, we should try our best to cultivate healthy and qualified talents for our school.
