Cooperative learning is teaching mode coming in to existence in USA in 1970s. Based on cooperation and communication among students, it is an effective and meaningful reform in teaching which emphasizes the development of human resources, the cultivation of ideation and creation. As a kind of teaching mode transforming students'learning manner, cooperative learning has been widely used in classroom teaching. However, during actual teaching process, the teachers on the front-line has been confronted with many confuses-the wide gap between actual result and predicted one. Various sections of society, especially educational circle, have different views on this teaching mode.At first, this article confirmed the necessity to conduct group cooperative learning in junior secondary education. Secondly, further demonstration was given on group cooperative learning, involving some definitions and supporting theories of cooperative learning as well as analysis and research on the actual performance of group cooperative learning by the method of documentation review, questionnaire and interview to explore the problems existing in group cooperative learning. For example, the understanding on effect of group cooperative learning, group organization, timing for cooperative learning, content of group cooperative learning, teachers'role in group cooperative learning, cooperative awareness and skill of students, division of task among students and assessment mechanism of group cooperative learning, etc. Following analysis on the reasons attributed to these problems, combined with my teaching experience in math of junior secondary education and curriculum innovation on group cooperative learning carried out at my school, this article centered on group cooperative learning in math and proposed corresponding solutions and suggestion for the above problems:1. improve the understanding on effect of group cooperative learning,2. organize learning group in scientific and reasonable manner,3. select proper timing for cooperative learning,4. select effective content of group cooperative learning,5. orient teachers'role in scientific manner,6. cultivate cooperative awareness and skill of students,7. perform division of task among students reasonably,8. establish valid assessment mechanism. I wish these solutions and suggestion would help the teachers who would like to experiment with and research on group cooperative learning, which will turn group cooperative learning into a teaching mode with high efficiency to accelerate students'significant development.
