On The UROP Management Of Yunnan Universities

To learn more about the Undergraduate Research Training (The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, referred to as UROP) management in Universities of Yunnan Provice, this paper first difines the concept of UROP and the content of UROP management,then to know about the profile of Yunnan Universities's UROP management by reading the literature of five universities that have been choosed-Secondly, using questionnaires from the perspective of their students to learn more about the UROP management of Yunnan Universities:Firstly,designing the content of questionnaires in accordance to the content of UROP management.Then, five universities in Yunnan were choosed, a total of 366 questionnaires were issued and recycled; Thirdly, using Excel to analyze the questionnaire results and the last part of the article, summarizing the questionnaire,with some wonderful practices of universities abroad and domestic in contrast, then to find out key improvements of Yunnan Universities's UROP management.The content of UROP management is the key part of this article, because the questionnaire was designed in accordance with the content of UROP management, and the overall framework of the paper is based on this content. The content of UROP management in this paper is divided into four parts:Management system,security mechanism,incentive mechanism and inspective system.At last,we all give a final analysis of performance of UROP's management of Yunnan Universities.This article is divided into four general parts:the first part is introduction, which is described of the background, significance, research status and research methods; the concept and content of UROP management are placed in the second part separately, with a diagram of UROP management. The third part is the analysis of the questionnaire, and the last part of the questionnaire is based on the analysis of the whole UROP management of Yunnan Universities.There will be a summary of the current situation of UROP management of Yunnan Universities, with some good UROP management experience of foreign universities and domestic universities.Finally, there are some recommendations need to be focused on in order to improve the UROP management of Yunnan Universities from the three aspects: The first aspect,the difficulties that the five universities have- management systems and information mechanism are imperfect, evaluation of incentives for students is irrational, funds management is imperfect. The second aspect, the difficulties faced by non-key universities such as E which are lack of teacher guidance and students platforms, combined weakly with the class, the transformation is not ideal. The third aspect, the difficulties faced by non- polytechnic universities such as C which is lack of practical activities for students.
