The motto reflecting the school-running concept , is the most concisest words or famous quotation formulated to point and incentive all the teachers and students in the school. University motto is not only the centralized expression of university's independent thinking and school-running feature's, but also precepts to guiding and encouraging all the teachers and students.The author gathered 729 domestic university's motto and related materials, ananlyzing the university mottos'language elements. This article comprehensively use the literature index method, the language analysis method and comparative research methodThis paper firstly analyzes the research status which education, culture, history and language in university's motto. Secondly summarizes the connotation of university motto and the way of produce. Finally respectively from the four language perspectiv: pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure and rhetorical to analyze university motto. University motto is readable and speech harmonious with music beauty; University motto words has rich positive emotional color and verb thinking.
