With the development of the education in China, some new trends of development about the reform and development of PE teaching methods turn on. And some new teaching methods: autonomous learning, cooperative learning, and inquiring teaching methods have been used in teaching and got remarkable effect. With the these methods it has improved student's interest in learning, skill, ability of autonomous learning, cooperative sense and research ability greatly. While nobody has used the three methods together for students majoring in PE in high school. It is necessary to have a deep research about the autonomous-cooperative-inquiring method. So this essay will focus on the feasibility of this method to enrich the basketball teaching method , to improve the quality of basket teaching method, to offer some references for the reform of basketball teaching in high school.The documentation method ,interviewing method ,questionnaire, experimental method and mathematical statistics are used in the essay to have a detailed analysis about the autonomous-cooperative-inquiring method in PE class in high school. It proves that it is more effective by using autonomous-cooperative-inquiring method than traditional method in PE class teaching in common college. It can improve student's technical level. Also, it can improve student's interpersonal interaction ability and cooperative research ability better by using this way than traditional way.
