Improving The Effectiveness Of College Ideological And Political Education Which Based On The Spiritual Needs' Perspective

What kind of men to be trained and how to train men are the sacred mission and historical responsibility of colleges and universities. As an important part of higher education, ideological and political education should assume the responsibilities to play its role to train people, shape people, perfect people and develop people. Thus ideological and political education should take it as its starting point and ultimate goal facilitating the growth of students and developing the talents of students. The development of students cannot go without the cultivation of healthy personalities in which the value of life is the core content. The meditation of ideal of life, the value of life, the meaning of life is bound to produce a rich spiritual world for a man. And accordingly, the spiritual needs come into being. The paper, in the perspective of the spiritual needs of college students, claims the ideological and political education as the existence of human spirit and is going to deal with value conflicts and mental confusion of students in the process of their growth, enhancing the knowledge of ideology and ethics to a higher level of the wisdom to promote people's ideological and political quality and spiritual life so as to meet students'needs to perfect their personalities and to construct a meaningful spiritual world. And it wants to give a new look to the goals, measures, contents and media of ideological and political education and finally reach the aim to improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education.This paper falls into six parts:Part I:Introduction. Introduction explains the origin and significance of the selected topic. It analyses the spiritual needs and the present researches situation on effectiveness of ideological and political education and then move to unveil the research logic, measures and innovation of this paper. PartⅡ:The Classification of the Basical Characters among Spirit, Needs, Spiritual Needs, the College Students'Spiritual Needs and the Effectiveness of Ideological and Political Education.PartⅢ:Explains the marxist basic theory of spiritual needs; Inherit traditional Chinese culture about people's spiritual needs theory; Reference Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Theory, Clayton Alderfer·E·R·G Theory, McClelland theory about people's spiritual needs.PartⅣ:This part is going to sort out the problems raised in the ideological and political education in the perspective of spiritual need. As the object of education, students to varying degree lack of the spiritual needs and that brings new challenges to ideological and political education. The attention of educators paid to the spiritual needs of students is far from enough. Accordingly, students respond to ideological and political education inactively. In conclusion, the means to carry out ideological and political education which neglect the spiritual needs of students will affect the effectiveness of ideological and political education.PartⅤ:This part will present the necessaries to promote the effectiveness of ideological and political education on the basis of spiritual needs of students. Moreover, the paper put forwards the specific ways to lift the effectiveness of ideological and political education in colleges and universities from the five aspects of ideas,goals, approaches, contents and media.
