In the 21st century, mathematics educational reform spread around the world. As a part of education, mathematics plays an important role in several aspects, such as in developing and improving human educational activities; in forming people's attitude and thinking methods towards the world; and in promoting social progress and development. Mathematical reform in education and teaching has always been pushed to the forefront of school's educational reform. In modern society, mathematical education is also an important aspect of lifelong education.To citizens, it is the foundation for further study and needs for lifelong development. As human society develops up to present, mathematics has been changed from mystery to reality, from classroom to society, and scholars to the masses. Mathematical education occupies a special position in school education. It helps students to master the basic knowledge,skills and ideology of mathematics. And it enables students to express clearly and think logically.It also cultivates students with down-to-earth attitude and perseverant spirit. It makes students learn to use mathematical way of thinking to solve problems and recognize the world. In high school, teacher's instruction is still an important method of mathematical teaching. But it should be aware that we must pay attention to student's participation and interaction.In high school's mathematical course, teachers are confronted with new challenges in some aspects, such as in educational concept, subject content and the curriculum resources'exploitation and utilization. In teaching, teachers should actively explore teaching methods that suit for high school students. These methods should be in accordance with high school's mathematical curriculum concept and objectives, and also in line with students' cognitive characteristics and mathematical features.In mathematical teaching, contexts are needed in introducing new knowledge, encouraging students'participation and cultivating their thinking ability.Many students said that mathematics are monotonous and boring. In fact, if situational questions are established, students will participate and learn actively.As Shandong University's President Mr ZhanTao said:" students should learn simple, interesting and fresh mathematics" In teaching, we should help students to realize that mathematics is relevant to themselves and real life. Mathematics is useful. They want to and they can use mathematics.In this paper, I use the First Current Textbook for Full-time Common High School published in 2003 (required) as teaching material, which has been reviewed by the National Teaching Material of Middle and Primary School Authorized Committee. And in my research, and I use the Ordinary High School Math Curriculum Standard (tests) as support, rural middle school as object and situational teaching as the means, as well as combining my own teaching practice for severl years.In this paper, the situational teaching of function in Grade One is used as researchful means and rural middle school's students as testing subjects. I hope to make innovation from the old and change the backward teaching methods that do not suitable for students'all-round development. It makes students understand the mathematical knowledge in situational teaching and get rid of the fears of learning mathematics. Let them establish good mathematical learning concept, love mathematics, and set up good mathematical knowledge structure, enhence mathematical thinking and improve intelligence development level. Meanwhile, it would be helpful for carrying out situational teaching comprehensively in all high school subjects. it is good for students'all-round development and the improvement of teaching quality.This paper is divided into the following five parts:The first part:introduction. This part mainly expounds the research background, purpose and significance, also including the train of thought and methods, as well as the problems need to be solved in this paper.The second part:reviews. This part mainly focus on analyzing the position of high school's function textbook and factors that influence students in learning function.The third part:theoretical basis of the research. This part includes demarcation of the concept, and the theoretical basis,principle, features and methods of situational teaching.The fourth part:research of situational teaching in function and students'study in Grade One of Senior Middle School.The fifth part:experimental research and conclusion of situational teaching of function in Grade One.The sixth part:thinking and outlook. In this part, I will put forward the existing problems and future research direction.
