School Mathematics Teaching Thinking And Practice

Mathematic thought and method (MTM) is the kernel of mathematic knowledge and it is the bridge of knowledge to ability. The teaching of MTM is the requirement of the new curriculum standards, and also it is the comprehensive requirements of mathematics teaching by the current form of education. The teaching and practice of MTM in primary school was studied in this paper by theoretical and practical aspects. Rationale for this study, domestic and international research review, relevant definition of the concept and the research methods adopted by this article is discussed in the preface of the paper. The MTM suitable for the pupils to learn, which reserving in the primary mathematics textbooks was analyzed in the first chapter. According to different focus, the MTM was divided into focusing on the thought and focusing on the subject. The characteristics and teaching strategies of MTM in primary schools was discussed in the second chapter. Teaching practice of the MTM in primary education was shown in the third chapter, which consists of two parts, the first part is the teaching of MTM during the progress in education of mathematical knowledge; partⅡis the teaching of MTM in the subject of "problem solving strategy", which was carried out by case studying and analysis. The significance and the deficiencies of the MTM teaching during the primary stage were pointed out in the conclusion of this paper. The MTM is where the power of mathematics, attention to the teaching of the MTM could help to improving the cognitive structure of students, could help students to enhance the mathematical literacy, and also could it help the students life-long learning and development. Theory and practice was well combined in this paper which would have positive impact on the teaching of the MTM in the primary education.
