The term "Ontology "derived from philosophy, is the theory about the existence, law and nature of things. Ontology can transform various types of widely accepted knowledge into normative form that can be understood by computer. However, at present there are few ontology and its scientific research achievements which have been put into use. The main reason is that existing construction of ontology mainly adopts artificial methods, this period involvs a number of experts who must have clear and comprehensive understanding about the domain concepts and relationships. Big investment,long construction cycle and unguaranteed quality are all factors that limit the application of ontology. The ability that can quickly and easily access the concepts and knowledge of one domain and convert them into domain ontology automatically, to a certain extent,determines the speed of application and promotion of ontology.Automatic construction of ontology technology is studied around this issue. In this thesis, the theory of ontology has been introduced.This thesis comparative analysis many stages of related algorithms in text mining such as text Preprocessing, feature extraction, knowledge model extraction and knowledge model evaluation. This thesis combines the guiding ideology of automatic ontology construction, introduces construction tools and methods. Based on the results of theoretical research, text mining tools and automatic ontology construction tools have been developed,finally an automatic construction system of ontology based on text mining have been developed.Based on the foregoing, related data in teaching domains and process them have been collected to fit the text mining and ontology construction needs. In final,the ontology of teaching domains have been automatically constructed successfully by using automatic construction system. The results of application for teaching domains detect that by studying the technology of automatic construction of ontology based on text mining and developing the text mining tools and automatic ontology construction tools, it can largely shorten the cycle of ontology construction projects, reduce the input of experts and save many costs. At the same time,it can avoid mistakes that caused by domain experts do not have unity understanding or human careless.Thus improves the quality of ontology construction and provides a good technical support for ontology applications.
