Reading teaching, as one ofimportant parts of Chinese teaching,has long been a major concern. Therefore, the reform of it is in full swing. In the wave of innovation, numerous teachers carried out a thorough study and made remarkable achievements. In actual teaching, however, teachers are still confused, and students vacant. The appearance of new ideas brings about many new problems in the current reading teaching.As a contemporary outstanding educator, Ye Shengtao engaged in Chinese education research for more than seventy years, proposing many incisive views, and writing lots of articles. His reading teaching ideas are comprehensive, with grand theories and meticulous practice guidance, which is extremely operational.His original reading teaching theories still provides reference for today's Chinese education, as what Lv Shuxiang said in the preamble of Ye's Chinese education collection,"there are many problems which are new on the surface, but still old in fact, so most of these articles also have practical significance."This paper studies Ye's reading teaching ideas deeply from the aspects of reading target, reading process and reading methods, regards the ideas as the theoretical pillars, and proposes a series of reading teaching strategies according to today's teaching situation in high schools. This article is divided into four parts.:The first one is introduction, which summarizes the problems existing in current reading teaching reform, and then puts forward the purpose and significance of this paper.The second part is"the basic content of Ye's reading teaching ideas", which describes the details of reading target, reading process and reading methods in his theories.Part three is"the modern education concepts in Ye's reading teaching". In this part, the new ideas in the new curriculum standard and Ye's reading teaching thoughts are comparedto support Ye's modern education concepts, namely, reading teaching should be student-oriented, reading is the dialogue between texts and readers, and reading should cultivate students'ability of self-study.The forth part is"the enlightment of Ye's reading teaching to Chinese education in middle school", which is what should be solved in this article. From the aspects of reading target, reading process, and reading methods, this paper combinestheories and practice together, and applies Ye's reading teaching theories as guiding ideology to correct the existing problems in curricular reform, and brings aboutteaching strategies.To conclude, this paper uses Ye's views of reading teaching to guide current Chinese reading teaching reform, hoping to help teachers have rules to follow, continuously improve the teaching level in actual teaching, and provide reference and guidance significance in solving new confusion, improving students'reading abilities and cultivating reading interests.
