A Survey And Analysis On Basketball Specialized Course Of Physical Education Major In Henan

In June, 2003, the Ministry of Education proposed the personnel training mode aiming at cultivating socialist builders and successors so as to meet needs of the 21st century, that is,"National Curriculum Program for Physical Education Undergraduates of General Institutes of Higher Education", Curriculum Program for short. It aims at cultivating PE interdisciplinary talents with solid professional basis, modern concepts of education, scientific literacy, professional ethics, innovative spirit and practical ability. Basketball course designed as the backbone of the professional physical education courses plays an important role in the teaching of PE colleges. Henan, a major physical education province, should focus on how to make basketball course adapt to education reform and adapt to the needs of social development, which is urgent for sports educators from Henan Province and all over China.This paper conducts a study on the current situation of basketball teaching at 9 General Institutes of Higher Education in Henan Province by use of literature review, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics, logic analysis as well as other research methods , which aims to fully understand the development condition of basketball courses, students training mode and its development trend, specify teaching goals, regulate the teaching contents, improve teaching methods, and explore how to highlight the role basketball teaching plays at the students'ability cultivation. This can provide reference for promoting the PE teaching reform and improving the local education quality. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The total hours of Basketball elective class have reached the classes specified requirements, designed course class period also quite reasonable. But because of the fourth year teaching practice and graduation job's sake, many schools cannot complete the teaching plan of teaching hours for instruction.2. At present, the percentage of title personnel is higher, the most teacher have the rich teaching experience; Degree structure is not reasonable, master's or higher degree teacher is not enough.3. The methods and tools of Teaching is single. Teacher main use the conventional teaching method, utilization rate of modern teaching methods is low.4. examination content include "technique examination + theory test + peacetime achievement" as the main form, the students' skill levels did not cause the enough attention. Teaching evaluation form is single, main use of summative assessment .Evaluation body basic is a teacher, have not student's independent evaluation and self-evaluation.5. By the influence of entrance source, students' basketball basis is insufficient ideal.
