At present the economic gap of every district in Xinjiang is still very wide, and it moreover has the tendency which continues to expand. This is violating the request of sustainable economic development and is deviating from the request of building a well-off society in an all round way. However, we should not narrow the economic gap by developing the economy of one district at the benefit of the other districts. As a result, the new idea of cooperation of the north, east and south of Xinjiang come into being which shows that the the north, east and south of Xinjiang can both achieve win-win & mutual benefit by means of cooperation in many fields such as economy, technology etc. Under the help of measurement and statistical model and uses the method of combining the normative research and empirical studies, this paper takes entire district, three belts and district as the research space scale, discusses the relation between the population migration and economic development from the important economical essential factor—the angle of migration labor force, and gives some countermeasure suggestion.Hoping at the year in the twelveth—five plan opening, the population migration in Xinjiang will become more lasting, more frequently, more conducive to the strengthening of districts economic in balance. This dissertation introduces the background and significance of the topic, reviews and summarizes the theories and research results of population migration of abroad and home, and explains the thought and frame for researching this topic. Basing on these results, the boundary of the concepts for population migration has been pointed, which has been the jumping—off point of this dissertation. At the first body part of the dissertation, using the cointegration analysis and granger causality test draws a conclusion that the population migration is the necessary condition of economic growth, the reasons are that the rapid economic growth in Xinjiang and higher income in urbans as well as many employment opportunities has attracted a large transfer of rural residents. At the second body part of the dissertation analyzes the interaction between district migration difference and economic development difference. First of all,in the contribution analysis of the district migration to narrow the economic gap which obtains the conclution that the migration narrowed the economic gap between the districts, moreover this effect becoming stable gradually. Secondly, in the quantitative analysis which gets the concluded that north of Xinjiang created the volume of GDP gradually increasing, and it becomes the biggest beneficiaries of labor mobility. Thirdly, in the analysis of relationship between the district migration and economic development which obtains the initial economic development level is the most important factor, followed by the amount of capital investment, again is the labor force growth. Among them, the net migration of labor force and GDP rises is represented positive correlation, but initial net migration labor level and GDP rises is negatively correlation. On the base of the above research, the dissertation gives some countermeasure suggestion to improve the coordinated development between xinjiang migration and economy from the micro and macro aspects respectively.By means of analyzing the correlation between population migration and economic development, this paper has some innovation value on the research angle, methods, thought and so on, especially through the analyses of the phenomena of district population migration, some results and views having innovation value have been obtained, which are help effectively to provide a certain reference value for population policy formulation in xinjiang, and provide the reference to other areas.
