Study On Coordinating Development Between Population Spatial Dynamic And Regional Economy Of Xinjiang, China

Since the reform and opening up, Xinjiang’s economic and social development experienced dramatical changes. Since the new period, the domestic and international environment occurred many changes, these changes brought a series of influence to China’s and Xinjiang’s economic and social developing environment. As China’s northwest frontier province, the improvement of Xinjiang’s economic development and the stability of its social environment and development have are of great importance to the development and stability of our country, even to the whole central Asia area. The position of population issues in the economic and social development decides the inevitable relation between population and economy. Thus there must exists internal links between the population spatial dynamic distribution and the regional economic development. This study tried to explore a way of realizing coordinating development between population spatial dynamic distribution and regional economy through qualitative and quantitative analysis.This research spread out in the order of the current and historical data analysis, coherence analysis, the influencing factors analysis of sequence on the coordination of Xinjiang’s population spatial dynamic distribution and regional economic development. The study uses many analyzing methods such like mean center calculation, index system construction, coordination degree function construction, geographic spatial analysis and linear regression. During the research, coupling analysis framework and PSR analysis framework based on the PSR model was initially constructed.Through the analysis, the results show that, since the reform and opening up, the population center has moved to the southwest while the GDP and agricultural center has moved to the northeast. In reference of the population gravity center, the regional difference of economic development of Xinjiang increased coupling of economic gravity center of Xinjiang; with the population centroids weakened, marginal returns to labor in the economic activities of production decrease. Xinjiang spatial distribution of population and the development of the regional economy gradually improved by uncoordinated state for the coordination state, population system and regional economic system coordination degree has increased, but the quality of coordination is still low. The majority of regional economic agglomeration level of relative population agglomeration level has improved greatly from 2001 to 2013. The five factors selected in the analysis of influence factors,government consumption ratio, the efficiency of agricultural production and the rate of investment coordination degree was positively correlated with the Xinjiang population spatial dynamic and regional economic development, the unemployment rate, agricultural production efficiency and the rate of investment coordination degree decline.Based on the analysis, a series of policy recommendations were brought out in order to achieve the goal about the coordination between population spatial dynamic and regional economic development in Xinjiang. Summed up in the following points: Firstly, always keep a certain proportion of government consumption in the final social consumption.Secondly, monitoring and improve the unemployment information publicizing system, and enforce the training of theunemployed. Thirdly, continue promoting Xinjiang’s agriculture industrialization and modernization, improve the agricultural productivity. Fourthly, increase the scale of infrastructure construction in undeveloped areas. Fifthly, increase the intensity of agricultural subsidy in underdeveloped areas. Last but not least, increase the attraction of business investment, take out combined preferential policies to support the investment promotion.In the last part, the research make a conclusion of the whole essay, then make a discussion and overlook on the future of this field.
