With the gradual establishment of a learning society, non-diploma education plays increasingly an impotent role in the education system in China. Non-diploma education which has great potential is going on the right track. With the popularity of computers and networks, the era of the Internet arrives. Learning through the Nets meets our need of knowledge and satisfies our desire of lifelong learning. It is high time to use long-distance techniques in non-diploma education. Some colleges and universities in China have already taken steps in this field. Self-teaching is the main teaching method of the long-distance education whose distinctive feature is the separation of time and space. Students set their own schedule of learning, and the quality of learning depends on students'motivation, awareness and self-discipline. However, students in non-diploma education are likely to confront various problems both from life and from their work. It is much harder for them to assure an efficient learning process. To solve these problems, Learning Support Service comes into being. Learning Support Service can help and guide students in their self-teaching process; thus it can promote the quality of learning. With this Service, universities can set their reputation in the market competition and also promote the benefit in their management. It is a win-win action for both universities and learners. Consequently, this paper is going to take deeper research in the Learning Support Service in non-diploma long-distance education.In the first part of the paper, from the analysis of the contemporary society, it is pointed out that long-distance techniques in non-diploma education is feasible and urgent. Then, through the method of documentary analysis and investigation method, the author analyzes the development and the current situation of Learning Support Service in China and abroad, especially, the current situation in non-diploma long-distance education in China. The author uses successful Learning Support Service in long-distance education as a source of reference in order to conclude the feature and the basic component of Learning Support Service in non-diploma long-distance education. From the author's perspective, in the non-diploma education, learners are like customers, universities being like suppliers. Customers will not get satisfied and purchase unless suppliers provide proper goods and intimate services. Consequently, the author puts forward intimate Learning Support Service in non-diploma long-distance education. The author, as well, analyses the components, operational mode and the assessing system of this Service, hoping that it will be useful in the development in Chinese Learning Support Service in non-diploma long-distance education.
