In this century, our society has witnessed countless emergencies and crises, so has colleges and universities. Campus crisis is inevitable, so crisis management emerges. Many scholars have defined the concept, features of campus crisis and its management, as well as the process of crisis management. Meanwhile, they have found that the management of campus crisis is not only a technical one, but the adjustment and regulation of undergraduates'mentality and psychology. Therefore, we should not only prevent and handle campus crisis from the perspective of management, but prevent and curb it from the angle of ideological and political education.Based on the management theory of campus crisis and undergraduates'ideological and political education, the thesis discusses the necessity of fully utilizing undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management, the functions and its mechanism construction of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management, so as to provide theoretical proof and intellectual impetus.The dissertation can be divided into four parts. The first part firstly defines campus crisis and campus crisis management. Then it analyses the features of campus crisis, as well as various factors causing campus crisis. Based on these, it then discusses the principles and steps of campus crisis management. Accordingly, it lays the foundation of applying undergraduates'ideological and political education in crisis management.With the analysis of present situation, the second part discloses the present situation and problems of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management. On the basis of it, the dissertation expounds the necessity of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management. It points out that undergraduates'ideological and political education meets the mental demand of campus crisis management, improves the scientific decision-making ability of crisis controller, thus it helps relieve the contradictions and conflicts in campus crisis, which serves as effective support for the analysis in the third part.The third part deals with the application of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management. This part combines the functions of undergraduates'ideological and political education and the three processes of campus crisis management. Aiming at the management of pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis, it separately investigates the different functions of undergraduates'ideological and political education in the three periods. As a result, the application of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management can be fully realized.The fourth part, the most important one, is concerned with the mechanism construction of undergraduates'ideological and political education in campus crisis management. The indeterminacy of campus crisis requires that ideological and political education should emphasize the research on crisis management. This part elaborates on the practical methods, approach and relevant mechanism construction of undergraduates'ideological and political education in the process of campus crisis management. Firstly, undergraduates'ideological and political education should establish all-around monitoring and pre-warning mechanism of undergraduates'mentality dynamic in campus crisis management. On one hand, we should reinforce the education of crisis consciousness and coping methods of undergraduates. On the other hand, ideological and political educators in colleges and universities should improve the inspection and supervision of students'mentality dynamic. Secondly, emergency response plan should be formulated, and regulation mechanism of undergraduates'ideological and political education should be constructed. On the basis of reinforcing crisis consciousness education and mentality dynamic supervision, campus crisis management groups should practice emergency response plan, and without any disorder, it guarantees the smooth progression of undergraduates'ideological and political education in the period of campus crisis. Thirdly, from the point of publicity and transparence of crisis information, we should effectively mobilize teachers and students and positively guide the students, thus establish psychological adjustment mechanism and teachers and students mobilizing mechanism, so as to make full use of the functions of campus crisis management. Finally, undergraduates'ideological and political education must stress the collection of public sentiment, establish relevant public opinion guidance mechanism, and give full play to the utility of campus crisis management of ideological and political education.
