In the period of"Great leap forward"and three-year difficult period,the food and non-staple food shortages caused the national big famine;pulsing the serious left-leaning errors which not have the serious influence on national economy but also have certain effect on the marriage and the family station。Thus,making the more serious influence on the birth ,the death and the development of the population in China。The influence mainly displays in the following respects:three-year difficult makes marriage and family scale down,family narrow and the total amount of family reduce which caused the fertility rate dropped;three-year difficult also make the death population rise and the natural population growth rate decline。In the three-year difficult period,the total population trends to down。The year 1960 in which the population reduce 10 million is the only negative population since the new China has been found.The population problem of"Great leap forward"and there-year difficult period, which not just produced great changes in the population size but also has certain effect on the population quality. Studying the social condition and development situation of population in this period, which not only make us more profound understand the population situation in that time, but also has more profound theoretical and practical significance to the future population work, the formulation and implementation of the population policy.The methodology of this essay is literature research。According to collecting the population statistics and related material of the whole country in the three-year difficult period and before and after a few years,and then classified and summarized basing on the data and information we have got. At last, the characteristics of the population in this period are concluded.
