The epoch of the "Great Leap Forward" is a special period in the history of New China. Never did the thought, research and probe on the "Great Leap Forward" itself and many historical phenomena in it stop. This doesn't mean that there have been no valuable problems to be reviewed and no spheres to be reclaimed. The "Education Revolution" of the period of the "Great Leap Forward" is a topic that has been ignored for a long time but valuable to be studied. The three-year-time of the "Education Revolution" is a time of reform and "great-leap" development. But it hadn't brought out good results that people expected. It is very useful to the development of today's education by studying the rise and decline of the "Education Revolution" and summarizing the experiences and drawing the lessons.The thesis is composed of introduction and seven chapters. The part of introduction brings out and defines the object and generalizes the study status quo, based on this, to construct the framework of the thesis.Chapter 1, mainly narrates the raising of the "Education Revolution" and its initial development before the "Great Leap Forward". Firstly, this chapter outlines the development of the slogan-"Education Revolution". Secondly, it analyses the reasons to carry out "the Education Revolution". Thirdly, it narrates the initial development of "the Education Revolution" before the "Great Leap Forward".Chapter 2, studies the education leading to the road of the "Great Leap Forward" and the program of the "Education Revolution". It mainly includes: the education work meeting from April to June of 1958 signaling the beginning of the "Education Revolution"; simply analysing Lu Ding-yi's "education must combine with production and labor" and the Central Committee of the CPC and the State Council's instructions on education work, and pointing out its influence and experiences and lessons.Chapter 3, 4, 5, is the core of the thesis, concentrating on the main contents of the "Education Revolution".Chapter 3, discusses one appearance of the "EducationRevolution"-education serving for politics. Part one studies the history of education serving for politics; part two expounds "pulling out white flags and erecting red ones"; part three discusses the measures to strengthen the lead of the party in school and the change of the leadership system; part four expounds the reform of the education system at that time. Chapter 4, discusses another appearance of the "Education Revolution"-education combining with production and labor. Part one and two studies the history and the practice of the combination of education with production and labor respectively; part three analyses the problems deriving from the combination.Chapter 5, discusses another appearance of the "Education Revolution"-the "great-leap" development of education. Part one mainly narrates the great-leap development of education from horizontal and vertical sides, and studies the influence of the construction of the People's Commune and analyses the problems coming out of the great-leap development. Part two expounds the change of educational framework, its contents are as follows: Mao Ze-dong's irregular educational thoughts and the principle of "walking on two legs" is the premise and guarantee of the change; Liu Shao-qi's thoughts of two educational systems is the base of the change of educational structure; the decentralization of the power of educational government is the systematic guarantee; the change of educational framework is a tide deriving from technical development; and mainly probe the great-leap development of vocational school with agricultural school as an example.Chapter 6, narrates the adjustment of the "Education Revolution". Part one narrates the status of "the decline of temperature" of "the Education Revolution" from late 1958 to early-half 1959.
