| Chemistry Olympiad, popular throughout the world has a history of more than 30 years in foreign countries. In China, Chemistry competition of secondary school students just began in 1984, and in 1987, the first delegation participated in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), over twenty years so far. In the past two decades, China's athletes have made brilliant achievements in the International Chemistry Olympiad. Chemistry Competition is an important way to teach the top students in high schools, and also an important manifestation for the subject of chemistry to be open to all students as well as to highlight individual differences. At present, in our country, chemistry competitions are popular and has formed multi-level, multi-class competition pattern from junior school to senior school, from region to nation. In fact, every year, millions of high school students participate in different level chemistry competitions which has made great contributions to the college collection and made a large number of excellent students admitted to key universities. However, on the other hand, some problems also exist, such as over practice, one-sided pursuit of scores and rankings. In order to develop these high-quality students, the majority of the educators need to do whatever they can.In this article, through analyzing 2006—2010 Jiangsu trials, the National Chemistry Olympiad first contests and finals, we have studied the characteristics of the contest questions. At the same time, we also do some research on the last three national high school chemistry competitions entry in Jiangsu Province and conduct questionnaires among the teachers and students who attended this year's training. With the investigation and analysis of the current training modules in our province, based on the ten years' competition experience in our school, and with the aid of the theories of education, psychology and quality of education, we have formed the main training strategy, which is about student---centered, teacher-led, training-clued. Only in this way can we highlight the dominant position of students to improve their learning experiment problem solving abilities and eventually improve their ability of innovating.In the specific implementation, in different branches of chemistry, we adopt different teaching strategies the elements in inorganic chemistry and organic compounds, some of the nature of functional groups self-exploration strategy was adopted so as to form a knowledge network; the theoretical part of inorganic chemistry and organic sense of thematic part of the strategy with the problem of teaching to enhance the height of the training. By helping each other between participatants, self-help, we further improve the ability of the team's co-operation. In order to improve the level of top students,we are carrying out the teaching methods through the small, Mr. and practical experimental training program. After the training of these four levels, the level of training to a new level, and we are making a positive attempt for the selection of outstanding talent. |
