This essay first gives an account of the current situation for anchored instruction both at home and abroad, elaborates the theories which anchored instruction is based on and then puts forward the meaning and significance of the research on information technology courses in senior high school Combining the theories for educational psychology and the teaching of information technology in senior high, the writer points out the necessity and possibility that anchored instruction can and is sure to improve the students'ability to solve the problems that the students might meet with when they are taking information technology course for senior high students.The main contents of this study are as follows:Ⅰ.Analyzing and refining the teaching strategies the teachers should follow when they adopt anchored instruction to improve the students' abilities to solve the problems that the students might meet in their study. The strategies include:(1).Setting aims and creating situations (2).Learning by the students themselves and leading the students to explore by themselves (3).Involving the students in co-operative activities and discussions (4).self-reflecting and evaluating and promoting students' abilities.Ⅱ.The writer takes the key points in each chapter of Information Technology Course(compulsory) for example. The writer adopts anchored instruction strategies to analyze and implement these key points in the course.Ⅲ.The writer has carried out many experiments to prove the assumption that anchored instruction can improve the students' abilities to solve the problems. The writer also analyses the influences that anchored instruction strategies might have on their abilities to solve the problems,their attitudes towards the course and theirs grades.The results of the study reveals that it is feasible to adopt this method to improve the students' abilities to solve the problems the students may meet in their study of the IT curriculum, and that the students have shown positive attitudes and great initiative. There are apparent differences between the experimental class and control class in the aspects regarding teaching methods, study process and using IT skills to solve the problems. This study also shows that anchored instruction can affect students'grades and their abilities to solve the problems in the experimental periods.
