Ideological and political theory courses are the main access and land to give ideological and political education to college students. They play an important role in helping college students to establish a correct outlook on the world, life and values. The teachers of ideological and political courses are the instructors of Marxist theories and routes, guidelines, and policies of the Party, as well as propagators of socialist ideology and spiritual civilization. They are responsible for the significant political mission and duty of the modern era. The quality of this team will have a direct and great influence on the cultivation of the constructors and successors of the socialism career, as well as the function of the courses as the main access of ideological and political education. As the expansion of universities, the team construction of teachers of ideological and political courses presents new characteristics such as becoming younger and more professional and having higher degrees, etc. Meanwhile, due to the marketization of economy and the diversification of society, ideology and culture, some problems emerge among the team, such as lack of construction planning, being less competitive, diverging in political faith, being different in professional levels, and unsoundness of the indemnification mechanism.Based on a study on the status quo of the team construction of young teachers of deological and political theory courses, and through a perspective of generation transformation of the team from after 70s to after 80s, this paper first summerizes the basic features of the team; then finds out the problems of the team in the apects of structure, ideology, skills and mechanism; finally puts forward solutions from the levels of government, colleges, and teachers according to the problems and the causes of these problems. The solutions include:to put more weight on the team construction, to increase input, to clarify the role of young teachers and the aim of the constuction, to draw on the wisdom of the masses, to carry out team-constuction programmes with distinguishing features, and so on. These measures will not only have a great effect on solving the problems of the team, but also be helpful to the development of young teachers of deological and political theory courses and the ideological and political education in colleges.
