Curriculum implementation is a key link of curriculum reform that turns theory into practice. Whether curriculum reform succeeds and to what extent it succeeds, it mainly depends on how the implementer understands and implements the new curriculum. Whether curriculum reform succeeds and to what extent it succeeds, it mainly depends on how the implementer understands and implements the new curriculum.How to properly understand the implementation of new curriculum and to properly implement the new curriculum so that new curriculum can attain the expected effect, what problems exist during the course of new curriculum implementation and what are the specific reasons of these problems, these are all important issues that being researched today and need to be further discussed and analyzed.This study adopted survey procedure to conduct questionnaire surveys for 72 geography teachers and 1355 students in 9 senior middle schools in Suqian and then interviewed some school leaders, teachers and students. Field instructions and classroom teachings were also performed. By these means, the new curriculum implementation of geography course in senior middle schools of Suqian was fully and objectively understood.In this study, the performance of senior middle school new geography curriculum implementation in Suqian was surveyed from 5 aspects such as implementation environment, geography teaching, geography course appraisal, development and utilization of geography course resources and professional development of teachers. This study mainly used SPSS to make statistical analysis on the survey data from 3 aspects as follows:Overall level of new geography curriculum in senior middle schools in Suqian, specific level presented in each aspect of new geography curriculum in senior middle schools in Suqian, comparison and analysis of differences of senior middle school new geography curriculum implementation in Suqian between different schools, different teachers and different students.Conclusions are drawn as below through the above-mentioned study:The attitude and conception of the geography teachers have changed and the idea of senior middle school new geography curriculum has been widely accepted; To a certain extent, the teaching methods of geography teachers have changed compared to. ever before. The assessment ways of geography curriculum have changed.The ways of autonomic learning, cooperative learning and inquiry learning have not been fully carried out. The students lack the enthusiasm to learn geography positively. The teaching methods of teachers lack innovation, the teaching methods advocated by the new curriculum are difficult to be used in practical operation.The development and utilization of the geography curriculum resource need to be further strengthened. More attention should be paid to the geography curriculum in schools.Professional development of the geography teachers is not enough and the trainings of geography teachers should focus more on actual results and be to the point.Based on the above problems, causation analysis of problems occurred in senior middle school new geography curriculum implementation in Suqian was made from 4 factors that affect curriculum implementation in this dissertation such as the nature of curriculum, total situation of school, level of school and external environment. To promote effective implementation of senior middle school new geography curriculum in Suqian, the following countermeasures were proposed in this dissertation:adding class hours of geography course, increasing input of geography course resources, improving professional qualities of geography teachers, encouraging the students to participate in diversified learning styles, building diversified valuation models and organizing targeted trainings.
