The school assignment in the traditional sense is the consolidation exercise or written work after class. The study will expand the content of the school assignment to all the tasks including preview exercises, classroom exercises and after-school consolidation exercises, covering the pre-teaching stage, the teaching stage and post-teaching stage. In order to make effective use of the time of the three teaching stages, teachers must guide students to learn, rationally planning their learning time before and after class. Thus I try to carry out the study by practicing the mode that the guidance case is operated, which serves as a carrier, and teachers offer students timely and necessary guidance.The study is a kind of practical research, by adopting methods of questionnaires, interviewing and documents research. Find out problems according to questionnaires, and then create the chemistry assignment consistent with the ideas of new curriculum reform by means of documents research. The study presents a kind of effective mode of the school assignment——the guidance case. The most important characteristic of the mode is to highlight the dominant position of students, to guide their autonomous learning and to develop their ability to learn. The designing of the guidance case focuses on the operating effectiveness of classroom teaching and unites the three stages of students'learning. I carried out the practical research in three classes which have different levels I taught in the same grade and found that the designing of task should follow the following basic principles:timeliness, right amount, moderation, and stimulated interest principle. The research is to study the timeliness and effectiveness of teacher supervision, also the motivation and guidance of marking and evaluation. The effectiveness of the school assignment is to be assessed by students'reflection in the learning process and teachers' feedback in the teaching process. According to the contrast and analysis of the questionnaires before and after the practice, transforming the teachers'concept and making full use of the guidance case can improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching and promote the students'ability of learning.There are lots of factors influencing the effectiveness of the school assignment, making the practice of students in the classes with different levels and the effectiveness of different teachers using the same guidance case are different. So during the practice, the school, the teachers and the students should cooperate in harmony. The school should standardize the schedule and provide a free and unconstrained environment. Meanwhile the teachers should transform the concept, believe their students and offer them timely and necessary guidance.This study is my exploration and experience in the process of trying to combine the guidance case with effective classroom teaching. The purpose, though immature, is consistent with the objectives of curriculum reform in Jiangsu Province. It is a specific reflection and summary of teaching practice.
