Research On The University Portal Evaluation Index System In Hubei Province

With the accelerated process of education information, university portal has got a vigorous development; most of universities in our country have already had portals. However, as a relatively new field, university portal is still in the phase of begining .By bad quality and lacking of construction planning, it is important to evaluate the university portal properly.Through evaluation, we can find advantages and disadvantages of the site, promote universities to sum up the experience and lessons which can provide universities guidance to determine the site development plan. In this paper, the author summarized theories of website evaluation at home and abroad, on this basis, combined with university portal features and function, initially built a university portal evaluation index system.In order to optimize the index system, the author asked for advice from experts, analyzed the discernment of indicators and the reliability and validity of the evaluation index system.Then the author used AHP to determine the weight of each indicator. Finally, the author used the evaluation index system to evaluate some university website portals in Hubei procince which were randomly selected, analyzed of the existing shortcomings of university website portal and hoped to give suggestions to improve the design quality.The evaluation index system we built remains need to be tested. I will pay more attention to improving research samples, investigating approaches to test the rationality of the evaluation index system in future study.
