Nowadays, with the development of science and technology, overlapping penetrating of academic knowledge, scientific research goes from the era of"little science"into"big science"times. British science sociologist John Ziman has written,"It appears to the typical researchers that main feature of big science is that he must work in a group. Research team has more open environment than individual research to play his personal sense of responsibility, initiative or ability. He participated in a research project instead of a separate research."With complete and strong academic foundation and talent advantage, universities have become a driving force for research development and an important source of original innovation in national innovation system. Research teams in Chinese universities have become a major force in scientific research and innovation. The guidelines are the system integration theory and the structural function theory. The objects of this thesis are research teams in Chinese universities. On the basis of illuminating the concept of universities research teams and connected with the actuality of our universities research teams.It is given a completely study on the structural factors affect the creative performance.On the basis of the theoretical analysis and actual research, it reveals the degree of correlation between team structure and creative performance, and calculates the weight of elements of team structure affecting creative performance. The conclusion is that we must seize the main factors such as the scientific research ability of members, the academic heterogeneity, the ability of team leader, and the team scale to improve creative performance of research teams in Chinese universities. This research will serve as a reference to some extent on construction and development of research teams in Chinese universities.
