With the development of the economy and society, the level of people's living is getting higher and higher. On account of the high-rhythm of life, production and studying approaches, the fierce competitions make people very stressful, as a result their health are threatened seriously. The central committee of the CCP about deepening education reform under the state council comprehensive promotion of quality education decision says that good heal this the basis for the youth to serve the motherland and people and it is the reflection of our nation full of energy. Health lies not only in the health of the body, but also in the good condition of the physiology and psychology. Therefore, physical education. in school must pay more attention to the students'bodybuilding, so that the social function of this subject could be fully strengthened.Adolescence is a critical period of physical development, especially the period of high school. So how to make students develop interest in physical exercise and whether students can form good exercise habits are particularly important. In terms of the current situation of physical education, the Monotonous boring classroom teaching can no longer meet the individual needs. As a result, with the further development of school physical education reform, school physical education optional teaching gradually entered the classroom. To some extent, physical education optional teaching greatly improves teaching effectiveness. To get a better understanding of the current situation of sports development in Zibo, the paper deeply probes into physical education optional teaching and strategies in Zibo High schools, studying from the current situation of physical education optional teaching in Zibo No.11 Middle School, Zibo No.1 Middle school, Zibo No.6 Middle school, Zibo Experimental Middle school.In this paper, the literature and data, questionnaires, statistics, interviews, field observation, comparative analysis and other methods are taken to study physical education optional teaching and the existing problems of physical education teaching in Zibo. Under the background of the new era, the traditional physical education teaching methods have varieties of shortcomings, especially the schools are concentrating on the competitions and special trainings, the school sports depart life-long sports seriously, and the students'positive and active attitude are being restricted. How to develop the interests and make the students take an active part in it is one of our concerns. Generally speaking, all kinds of problems existing in the physical education. teaching method restrict the development of our teaching methods reform.So far, there are several factors that constrain the physical education optional teaching in Zibo high schools: the restraints of field equipment, the team of sports teachers having the same major, teaching philosophy aging, students'misunderstanding of physical education optional teaching, school leaders'lack of attention, teaching evaluation system unperfected, the education authority's supervision lacking etc. All of them have prevented physical education optional teaching from being carried out. It is required that we re-train the physical education teachers for grasping more sports skills and diversifying teaching styles through various means, so that we can meet the requirements of teaching. We should integrate the school's sports equipment in a reasonable way, break the shackles of traditional ideas, constantly update the teaching concepts and teaching ideas and increase the education authority's supervision of the sports elective courses, to make the physical education optional teaching in Zibo high schools carry out smoothly.
