Human is a valuable existence. The concept of life value is an understanding and pursuit of the value of life, and it affects people's evaluation, choices and action in the face of the value of life. The purpose of the life, however, is objectified under the ideology of instrumental rationality. So the living education is overstepped, severely squeezing the deserving space of the "existence education". If the ideal pursuit of "education concerning life" is to be held, the cultivation of a scientific concept of life value has become an important proposition in the modern education.Life value education for the middle-school students is practical education activities aiming to cultivate their concept of life value. It can help them discover, realize and create the value of life. Since middle-school students are at a critical period in which their outlooks on life and their values are in the process of forming, they can understand the value of life, learn to think rationally over the issues of life, comprehend the relationship between livelihood and life, and own self-confidence in life and the ability of reflection in the process of forming the scientific concept of life value. Therefore, it is important to carry out the research on life value education for the middle-school students in theory and in practice.Life value education needs knowledge to enrich, emotions to induce and reflections to perfect. And its approach is the unity of rational cognition and practical experience. The thesis first introduces the background and significance of the research, and then focuses on the relative domestic and foreign research, discussing the theoretical basis of life value education, and presetting the goal of value education: respecting the individual life, enhancing the life quality and pursuing the ultimate value. To achieve the goal of life value education, the paper focuses on the three ways to execute life value education among middle school students, including classroom teaching, cultural life on campus and social life practices according to the age characteristics of the middle-school students. At first, the process of the classroom teaching can be designed to help the middle-school students understand the meaning and value of life; then, the education can be infiltrated in the cultural life on campus; and finally it can be practiced in social life---- enriching the emotional experience, tempering their life will, trying to achieve the responsibility of life and sublimating the life value and so on.In brief, the thesis carries out many aspects of research on life value education for the middle-school students, both in theory and in practice. The research is highly targeted and maneuverable for the current school education. It is hoped that the research can, on the one hand, promote the life education research further in theory, and on the other hand, provide a more reasonable solution to the life value education aiming middle school students, so as to enhance the level of life value education.
