Based upon the theory of Cultural Capital by Bourdieu. My paper probes the relationship between the parent-child reading and the culture capital of the family. via two questionnaires :< cultural capital of preschoolers'families >and <parent-child reading in preschoolers'families activities> designed by the auther, the research investigated into 496 children of middle and large classes from six kindergartens in Harbin, with these efforts, the present conditions of preschoolers family cultural captial and parent-child reading was well described, and the auther is trying to probe the relationship of the two by canonical correlation analysis. The research can provide references to national thoery research on parent-child reading, at the same time,it is realistically significant in promoting parent-child reading activities.The first three chapters include the background,purpose,meaning and innovative points of the research ; concept definition and literature review , also it covers the progress and achievements of concerning fields'study, the shortages and problems which still to be further investigated into . Apart from these ,the adoption of researching methods,selection of research objects and the effectiveness of the research tools determination are also in.The fourth chapter is the main content and the result. It has been discovered that parents have a wide range of interest, but they failed to make full use of their spare time, enrich their free time life and improve their personality. Parents invest more support for preschoolers'development on object than time. The family always has a number of study appliances, but are short of other cultural resources, Parents generally have high education degrees, but mothers'professional status is always lower than fathers'. Most parents have a scientific cognition in parent-child reading, so they can pay more attention to creating a better environment for parent-child reading and using multiple guiding strategy. But what they lack is the initiative to take part in parent-child reading. The typical related analyses show that the activity of parent-child reading largely depends on the culture capital of the family. The physical, objective and systematic culture capital is very important in parent-child reading activities. The fifth chapter is about the tactical research of the improvement of family's culture capital as well as the promoting the process of the parent-child reading. It mainly includes five aspects, Firstly; parents should deeply understand the importance of taking part in parent-child reading activity. Secondly, Increasing investment in order to improve family education benefits of the cultural capital. Thirdly, optimized allocation makes cultural capital of preschoolers'families more efficient. The fourth, parents should think highly of improving their own cultural cultivation .At last, parents should optimize the manners of their spare time in different ways.
