Students'Autonomous Learning (SRL) is of great significance and importance in students' lifelong study, which is pointed out in the New Curriculum Standard of Chinese High School Education. Especially with the English teaching increasingly internationalized, the traditional inflexible teaching is criticized and SRL becomes more and more popular and important among Chinese teachers and learners. This study starts from the theoretical background of Autonomous learning, surveys and analyzes its concepts, development as well as the suitable learning strategies in senior school English listening, reading and writing classes. During the teaching procedures, the teacher tries to inspire the students to learn and actively develop the learning strategies in all aspects of English. The teacher is no longer the center of the class, instead, he should inspire the study desire and give some guidance of study. The present study aims at exploring the effective computer-assisted language learning strategies, based on the comparison between two senior classes with the method of literature review, experimentation and questionnaire survey, etc. It tries to prove that autonomous learning strategies can improve students' autonomous learning ability by analyzing the differences between the two classes. The thesis consists of seven chapters. The first chapter gives an introduction to the research background and the research significance. The second chapter is the literature review of autonomous learning theories both at home and abroad. The third chapter is the relevant theoretical basis, such as constructivism and the affective teaching theory. The fourth chapter is the investigation and analysis of the current problems in high school English teaching. The fifth chapter listed the features of computer-assisted language learning in high school, pointing out the significance of self-regulated learning with the assistance of computer and proposing the learning strategies in English listening, reading and writing classes. The sixth chapter centers on a teaching experiment conducted by the author. The seventh chapter is the conclusion part of the thesis. Based on the comparison between pre-test and post-test, it is clear that multi-media and internet are well received among students, who take advantages of internet, covering the shortage of traditional teaching in Audio-visual input and culture experience. It is proved that the strategies to the high school students'English learning assisted by computer are effective in helping students to set up a proper learning target by using suitable strategies and to develop the ability of self-assessment.
