| China has both the most aged population and growth rate of aging in the world. Shanghai, which entered the aging city firstly in China, has decreased family scale and weakened function of family supporting. This shed some light on the issue that family support gradually loses its importance in the supporting of aged people, which may have a considerable effect on the life quality of aged people. Recent research mainly concerned on informal support power, community for example, but ignores the importance of family support function. Hereby, this article mainly focuses on the mechanism that family support and family structure influence the life quality of aged people.Firstly, this article introduces relevant theories of life quality and life support of aged people. Then, the article quantitatively analyses the way family support influences life quality of aged people with data sourcing from aged people life status investigation of Shanghai 2005, using logistic regression method. At last, the article takes a view on foreign experience of family supporting to aged people.Based on theoretical and experimental research, this article brings out constructive conclusions that family support has positive effect on life quality of aged people. Compared to other supporting power, family support has major influence to aged people life; Spouse and offspring support emphasizes differently, the former on emotion, the latter on economy and living. As a result, it requires further embrace the function of family support to bring up the quality of aged people. To make this happen, the family values should be encouraged, children should live closely, family supporters'interests should be protected, family supporting level should be elevated, and at the same time, self-care of aged people should be advocated. |
