As China entering into an aging society gradually, the quality of life of olderpersons in rural areas will affect and determine the survival and development of all ofthe older persons. This maybe provides some support for the government and thedepartment of and relevant agencies making the elderly welfare policies, and givesome advice to the study of rural elderly people. This paper is based on the method ofsubjective and objective. To do depth analysis of the quality of life of rural elderly, thepaper is selected China One-time Survey of Urban and Rural Elderly Population doneby China Research Centre on Ageing . This paper is based random sample of 982 ruralelderly and analysis of their status. To the choice of indicators of quality of life, thispaper reference to Elderly Index System made by Professor Liu Yulin . With therealities of rural elderly in China, the choice of secondary indicators have partlydeleted or added. Through the analysis of the sample data, the economic situation,health status, marriage and family, spiritual and cultural life, and social security statusof the rural elderly are obtained. The results show that, the situation of economic ofrural elderly is relatively poor. Health awareness is weak. The satisfaction with familyharmony is high. The diversity of leisure activities is low. Leisure activities of ruralelderly are watching television, listening to the radio and walking. Rural elderlypension is family-based and social security is poor. Rural elderly people are moresatisfied with the current status of life. In the present stage, to improve the economicsituation of rural elderly is an important task. Coverage of social insurance for ruralelderly is insufficient, this needs to accelerate rural pension system, promoting theimplementation of new rural cooperative medical system.
