The phenomenon of school choice is not only an educational issue, but also a social problem. In particular, equity issues in education are increasingly concerned in today's society. Equity issues for school choice will naturally become a hot issue in basic education field and it is also the key focus of education theorists. This research is not only on the basis of the author's thinking about the hot issues of real education, but also expects to analyze and study in the phenomenon of school choice in the period of compulsory education in-depth from the theoretical perspective.In essence, the phenomenon of school choice emerges after compulsory education being extensively spread, basically guaranteeing children the most basic right to education. The phenomenon of school choice reflects a higher lever of right requirements. This spontaneous behavior led to a certain extent, education and social injustice. However, with the continuous development of society and people's concept of gradually change, the fairness of school choice has gradually been recognized and accepted. To a certain extent, school choice plays the role of enlarging education equity. Based on the re-understanding of the category of education equity, this research will form a new view of the fairness of education and correct people's previous misunderstanding of education equity in order to analyze the fairness of the phenomenon of school choice in the period of compulsory education. This study is divided into four parts:The first chapter is an introduction, including the origin of this study, current situation, research methods and innovations.Chapter two lays foundation through the social background and educational background of the occurrence of the phenomenon on school choice , and several existing school choice , analyzes the attitude of different interest groups in the school choice process, including educational administrative departments, schools and parents, especially as a direct interest touched by the parents group, their attitude towards school choice is to study the key. Although parents have a strong community demand for school choice, they think it is fair for the relative demand for family education. However, the phenomenon of school choice has been encountered a lot of questions, based on the front research, author analyzes the reasons of the emergence of school choice from historical, economic, institutional and other factors.The third chapter firstly re-defined the equity and education equity, from meeting the educational needs of the family point of view, education equity is the relative satisfaction of educational needs. On the basis of the overall understanding of the school choice in the second chapter and correcting people's previous misunderstanding of education equity, this chapter analyzes the rationality and fairness of school choice in period of compulsory education mainly from six aspects, including basic human rights, individual differences, resource sharing, school dynamic development, nearby enrollment policy and school choice experiences abroad, and to a certain extent, school choice reflects the relative satisfaction of family education, and expands the scope of education equity.In chapter four, we can improve the sense of injustice which is caused by the school choice from five aspects, including governments, schools, parents, students, and society. In particular, the government which acts as the main investor of compulsory education should actively promote the balanced development of compulsory education, regulate the behavior of school choice, and guide school choice healthily and orderly. Meanwhile, the government should develop high-quality private schools and take the characteristic and innovative method in order to not only expand the range of people's choice on education, but also maintain the fairness of education and society.
