School Choice as a hot spot for the educational fields has been widespread concerned by the community. In foreign academic circles, many scholars have done many farsighted studies. In our country, essential theoretical research are relatively scarce and prevenient research has been more concentrated on the urban school choice. There is little research on rural school choice in compulsory education, let alone on the farmers’point. This study is on the basis of the farmers’behavior theory and educational choice theory, relying on fieldwork, and empirical analysis as the important research method is used to verify three assumptions, whose results contribute to further explore three policy issues behind rural school choice in compulsory education.In this paper there is a total of four major components. Chapter1is the exordium which introduces the reasons why to select this subject, the researching aims, content, meanings and methods and defines the major conceptions used in this paper.Chapter2is theoretical analysis of rural school choice in compulsory education. In this process, farmers’behavior theory is selected as a strong point to analyze the behavior of rural parents’school choice, while education choice theory is used to explore the rural parents’ special economic thinking way. Lastly the relationship between farmers’behavior and rural parents’school choice is comprehensively analyzed and illustrated.Chapter3is empirical analysis of rural school choice in compulsory education on the basis of two field investigation, relying on three experience assumptions, and analyzes the survey results combined with the the proposed theory in the preceding section starting from the relationship between rural parents’behavior and school choice.In chapter4, three policy issues closely around rural school choice are proposed based on the survey of rural school choice in compulsory education. Additionally, a few obstacles which can not be ignored to solve the problem of rural school choice are deeply explored. The author has tageted some observations and suggestions lastly.
