In recent years, Mainland China and Taiwan have carried out a curriculum reform of the Chinese Course, and they have gained a good many achievements in textbook improvement. Mainland China and Taiwan have the same roots using Chinese as the main language. Classical Chinese plays an important role in textbooks of the two sides as the carrier of Chinese traditional culture and the crystallization of our national wisdom,The thesis ,which is divided into five parts, makes a comparative study of compilations of Classical Chinese Part in textbooks for Chinese in Junior Middle School , published by Jiangsu Education Press and Taiwan Kangxuan Education and Cultural Affairs Co. Ltd. Starting with the study motivation and purpose, Foreword illustrates the relevant present situation and the existing achievements, defines the study object and points out the specific study methods. Chapter One , starting from the teaching meaning and function of Classical Chinese, decribes the great significance for juniors, the important role of textbooks and an overview of the two textbooks. Chapter Two analyses the set of the teaching aims of Classical Chinese in Mainland China and Taiwan by comparison. In the third chapter, the thesis compares the amounts, percentage, contents and the style arrangement of compilations in the two textbooks from a whole. Chapter Four makes the comparison among the internal structure arrangements of each text, pointing out both the similarities and differences.Based on the above study, a conclusion is drawn in the conclusion section: arrange teaching aims of Classical Chinese for juniors reasonably to make it more clear; balance the amounts and percentage of Classical Chinese in textbooks for juniors to seek precision; adjust difficulty of it appropriately in accordance with the acceptable level of Juniors; enrich structure arrangement of each text in the textbooks for Junior Middle School to make them become both teaching and learning materials.
