This study aims to investigate ways and means of effective question design, based on the individual differences of students in high school geography teaching. And this study tries to improve the ways and means of effective question design which respects students'individual differences. First, this study reviews the literature related to difference-teaching in the aspect of concept, composition and training method, and make a comparative analysis of the features of some question design and teaching modes. Then , through the comparison of performances before and after the experiment ,this study analyses differences in student achievement between the two methods: the"difference- based question design"and"traditional teaching".Through the interviews with subject, this study analyses how student learning is influenced by"difference-based teaching"in these three aspect: question design, class discussion and teaching evaluation.Geography teaching should meet the learning needs of different students, because different students have different learning needs of geography. In order to meet students'different learning needs, teachers should design diverse and selective geographical questions. And question design is an extremely important factor that influences the effect of classroom teaching.Compared with the traditional teaching methods,"the difference-based question design"can not only improve students'performance, but also can effectively promote students'potential, so that students are able to learn their own ways and mean of learning geography. This study also provides some references to the current curriculum reform in the aspects of teaching methods, learning styles and evaluation methods.
