With the rapid development of information technology in recent years, computer and multimedia network technology are used more and more common in teaching. The development of integrating information technology into the curriculum makes the gap between the urban and rural education more narrow, from the level of information technology in schools and the quality of teaching resources to the development of information capability of the teachers and students. Therefore, in line with thoughts of narrowing new gap between urban and rural education, researches of information resource in primary and secondary schools in rural areas is of great significance.To actively narrow the gap between the urban and rural education, Education Department of Jilin Province has implemented the "rural town in Jilin Province (town) junior high school students'physics and chemistry teaching laboratories and computer rooms and equipment projects"in 2010. Because virtual physics experiment teaching carried out by junior high school is at the initial stage in rural areas of Jilin Province, most teachers have no relevant teaching experiences and cannot expertly carry out physics inquiry experiment teaching in the virtual environment.For the above reasons, this article has designed the instruction mode of physical inquiry experiment for junior middle school in the virtual environment, and has designed three instructional design cases which gradually develop from directed inquiry to free inquiry based on the detailed interpretation of junior middle school physics curriculum standards and the features of physical virtual experiment platform of junior middle school and the guidance of theory of inquiry teaching. The instruction mode and teaching cases which are designed by this paper have gotten fairly good results after the practice of physics teachers of junior middle school in some parts of Jilin Province. This paper summed up some of the issues which should be noted of the inquiry experiments in a virtual environment. The research also looks forward to the study can provide some help for the better carry out of physical virtual experiment teaching of junior middle school in Jilin Province.
