Physics experiment, the foundation of the physics teaching, is an essential part to improve the students'practical and Innovative capacity. The Low-cost Physics Experiment is an important part of the physics experiments, which is carried out with the materials that come from living stuff, object or apparatus. It is not only an important curriculum resource to guarantee the students to carry out exploration activities, but also an important way to add teaching aids in rural schools and mountain schools.This study will define the Low-cost Physics Experiments in secondary school. Moreover, it will propose the idea to develop the experiments and induct the Low-cost Physics Experiments. The specific targets conclude:inducting the low-cost physics experiments in theory, researching the principles of developing the low-cost physics experiments, discussing the methods and processes to develop the experiments.Based on the modern teaching idea, experiment teaching theory and middle school students' psychological characteristics, the study uses comprehensive methods of teaching experience summarizing, hands-on experiments making, trial in practice, perfecting by evaluation, and so on, to achieve the research outputs as follows:First of all, the research suggests that the low-cost does not merely mean the cheap production expenses. But it also includes the low cost in production time, as well as showing in the classroom.Secondly, the Assessment Scale of Low-cost Physics Experiments, which is made according to the principles and methods of low-cost physics experiments and combined with the experiences from the different teachers, can be the basis for qualitative assessment or quantitative analysisThirdly, after sorting a lot of related documents, we find some basic principles: Simplicity, intuition, security, scientific instruction and creativity. The Simplicity principle reflects the characteristics of the low-cost physics experiments. The principle of intuition, security and scientific instruction is the premise to use the low-cost physics experiments in physics education. The principle of creativity reflects the nature of inquiring physics. Following the principles mentioned above enables teachers to develop low-cost physics experiments reasonably, as well as to implement the low-cost physics experiments in teaching effectively.Fourthly, this study gets some conclusions about the idea and method to develop the low-cost physics experiments at the basis of a number of samples. To realize the development includes three steps:basic process, basic method and specific method. The basic process to develop the low-cost physics experiments contains general process, preliminary analysis, experimental design, experimental production, experiments show and experimental assessment. The five basic methods to develop the low-cost physics experiments are the general methods that used in experiment development:enumeration method of wish list, enumeration method of shortcomings, associated and transplanted method, and substitution method and simulation technique, Combination of techniques. The specific method to carry out the low-cost physics experiments is from the experiences that are made in teaching progress by teachers. So that it has no fixed form. The eight design methods on physics experiment contains amplification method, transfer approach, accumulation method, balanced method, comparative method, control method, keep track method, and reasoning method. The various methods help teachers and students to carry out the researches.Fifthly, on the basis of teaching experience, we sort and develop a lot of models. The results of this study show that low cost experiment development benefits teachers and students in physics teaching and especially be meaningful for the remote high school.This study is dedicated to develop the low-cost physics experiments, and it also aims to enhance the physics experiment practice in secondary school. The purpose of defining the low-cost physics experiments is to help teachers judge that whether the physics experiments is in a low cost or not. It also explores the process and method of developments to help the physics teachers develop the resource around themselves much better.
