Statistically speaking, school violence has become a concern for educators around the globe. It has become a problem one does not risk to ignore. Somehow, it has not earned enough attention from school administrations. Due to some probable causes, school tends to keep that in the closet. There is actually a phrase for it, the Ostrich Syndrome. School violence impairs the quality of the students'living and also school management. Stop ignoring what is happening in school, target the causes, make a plan to fight, is the way out.It has been 60 years since Olweus devoted to study violence in school. When the Education Department in the U.S. decided to select some best combat practices in 2010, it received more than 900 eligible candidates, which shows what a fruitful subject it is. Some of the findings have been carried out as policies throughout countries. However, when it comes to China, reports on this subject are far rich than research. We tend to tackle this problem in view of school management, focusing on correcting behaviors based on regulations, for the sake of keeping things in order. But logically speaking, as a place where educates people, such a school-management-oriented approach seems off base. Reinforce behavior with educational methods is the right way. To make sure what works, the first thing to know is the cause and effect.Students get to play three roles in school violence, i.e. the offender, the victim and the bystander. In order to get a full understanding of this abnormal phenomenon, it could be analyzed through the characteristics and attitudes of the three roles. Besides the uncontrollable biological factors, the offender has an active motive. It is believed that the behavior is connected to a deformed personality. According to researches, a deformed personality could be a result of malfunction in family education as well as the violence culture in the society. The offender is not only weak in control, resilience and compassion, but impulsive. Coupled with the cowardice of a victim and the alienation of some bystanders, it would just make it turn into a tragic circle. Take the peer relationship as a clue, launch an intervention in four levels: creates an atmosphere for interaction, gives general behavior guidance, sets up specific supervision and target curative measures. Emotional literacy helps student learn the technique of interaction. Peer support and group work offer plentiful opportunities to practice. Effective guidance from the teacher guarantees a reward.
