A quality of education plays a vital role to boost the economical and social aspect of any country. China is a fast booming country and most of youths are lucrative to university education and their enrollment rates are increasing each year. To adopt the new modern teaching and learning method, universities are keen to incorporate new technologies and medium to deliver new and innovative way of teaching. Among various medium for new pedagogy, classroom chair and desk is one of them as students'most of time is expensed in classroom. In Harbin Engineering University (HEU), most of class furniture is of fixed type and lacks flexibility to convert teacher-centered teaching strategy to student-centered method while required in same room.According to need of new teaching method, especially HEU university students should have lecture as workshop tutorial where the both traditional practice (listening speech) as well as discussion round (student-centred) practice approach have to be conducted at same place whenever required in class. Thus the existing furniture of HEU is investigated and elaborated their drawbacks and model of new educational chair and desk is proposed to meet the shifting learning ways. Chinese students have taller stature than previous record thus new suitable anthropometric data available for Chinese adult of 5 percentile female to 95 percentile male is accounted here. Chinese norm GB/T 3976 and other norm BS EN 1729-1 for furnctional dimensions for educational furniture and also BS EN 1729-2:2006 for strength test has been adopted. Existing furnitures model types and their parts and setup in building 11 class 2102(s), building 21B classroom and yiful hall has been studied. After intallation of new model in Yifu hall and Mechanical Department classroom, however the number of students in occupied space is decreased compared to previous but the space area (square meter) required by per student for suitable learning is increased and hence meets with the standard space guideline policy. The Computer Aided Design (CAD) model is performed in CATIA P3 V5R19 and also its safety as well as Finite Element (FEM) model and strength test is done in Genarative Structural Analysis section of CATIA V5 to see whether structure is safe enough to use.
