Objective: To reveal the psychological characteristics and the identity rule of the international students, we need to use the focus groups interview and the questionnaire of International students, so that we can propose recommendations of how to carry out the ideological and political education plan and management. Content:1st, it is about social identity characteristics of international students ; 2nd, the type of characteristics in self-identity about international students;3rd, reveal the international students' social identity and self-identity characteristics, so that it can draw some enlightenments in Ideological and Political education .Methods: 1st, Part one: it uses the methods of literature and theoretical thinking, to clarify the context and dynamic about social identity, and main concepts and issues in this research;2nd, Part two: we use the method of half-structured interview. Under the guidance of social identity theory, start the focus of individual interviews about 21 international students from four dimensions: cognition, emotion, motivation, and behavior. We take Nvivo9.0 software as a tool of the qualitative interview data processing and analysis developed by QSR International, to reveal the rule and characteristics of social identity and self-identity from international students;3rd, Part three: we take "A survey about the research of Foreign students' Social Identification" and "The scale about Chinese student's self-identity status" as questionnaires to inquiry. The data of 40 international students' questionnaires are processed with SPSS 17.0 by us, four characteristics of social identity and eight characteristics of self-identity are discovered;4th, Part four: the conclusion and implications of this paper have gotten through the method of theoretical thinking.Results: The six characters appear to foreign students'social identity: e.g., the cognitive traits of the role identity and group identity, and they present the remarkable differences in grade and live-time in China. The two characters are shown up foreign students'self-identity. First, their self-identity has great difference in the eight sub-types. Second, sex obviously affects the INDIF. Third, living- time in China has a different effect on the IDFOR and INDIF.Conclusions: Foreign students occupies six features in social identity, for instance, on the cognitive dimension, it presents the base of role identity and the core of group identity, and the deep effect of living time and so on. The eight sub-types of their self-identity take on seven features, for example, the IDDIF is influenced of 37.6% by country, nationality and religious belief, and the INDIF is affected about 49.5%, and each of eight sub-types has significant differences between them.Enlightenments: First, the ideological and political education for foreign students should be pointed and scientific; Second, the mental-health education for foreign students should be conducted necessarily; Third, the education and management of foreign students should be did in theoretical level.
