The Introduction And Influence Of Martin Trow's Mass Higher Education Theory In China

Professor Martin Trow, who is a famous contemporary education sociologist and founder of the mass higher education theory. His theory was formatted during 1970s, which is based on the development of US colleges and Europe colleges. The purpose of this thesis is to research the introduction and influence of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory in China. Introducing the Martin trow, his mass higher education, and the process and features of his theory in China, analyzing the influence of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory in China, at last revealing the enlightenment to Chinese mass higher education introduction due to Martin Trow's mass higher education theory.Specifically, this thesis includes the following four aspects:Firstly, introducing Professor Martin Trow's life and his mass higher education theory. This thesis not only said the background of his mass higher education theory, but also said the detail content of his theory. That means mass higher education theory contains four parts:stage of mass higher education theory, mode of mass higher education theory, notion of quality of mass higher education theory, notion of employment of mass higher education theory. At last, analyzing the influence to Chinese mass higher education introduction due to Martin Trow's mass higher education theory.Secondly, introducing the process and characteristics of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory in China. Professor Martin Trow's theory is not only the need of Chinese mass higher education's policy, but also the need of Chinese mass higher education's practice. The introduction of professor Martin Trow's theory has three stage in China which is introduction stage, research stage, transformation stage, this section not only discuss the process of each stage in detail, but also analyze the characteristics of each stage in detail.Thirdly, analyzing the influence of Professor Martin Trow's mass higher education to Chinese high education. Explaining this problem from two aspects which are the influence on Chinese high education theory and the influence on Chinese high education practice.Finally, showing the enlightenment on introduction of Chinese higher education theory because of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory. Firstly researching the awareness of the problem of Chinese mass higher education, secondly analyzing the historical limitations of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory, finally discussing the enlightenment and self-reflection on Chinese mass higher education because of Martin Trow's mass higher education theory.
