Now more and more attention has been paid to English learning. However, the status of"large cycles, big investment but low returns, poor performance"has plagued foreign language learners, and those who engage in language teaching constantly think over and explore the matter. For a long time, too much importance has been attached to the cognitive side of language learning while the other important aspect—the affective element has been neglected in English teaching. There is still a common phenomenon in teaching which only takes cognition seriously but neglects the affect. Lacking of feelings has been a burning question in the English Quality Education.In vocational schools, the present condition of English teaching and learning is far from optimistic and there are a lot of problems. Many vocational students have weak foundation in English with poor oral expression and little English application. They belong to the disadvantaged groups in basic education and have encountered a variety of difficulties in the past learning process. Some of them even have formed bad habits in English learning and they are afraid of learning English. We know,"heart disease needs medicine for the heart". In English teaching activities, if teachers pay more attention to emotional factors, take advantage of the positive role of emotional factors, and use proper strategies, it will be helpful to develop students'positive emotions and improve teaching effectiveness.This study, based on the language teaching principles about affect and combined with the vocational students'English learning situation, explores the effective role the emotional factors play in promoting English teaching in vocational schools. This study mainly uses the methods of the questionnaire survey and the teaching experiment. From the research, the author draws the following conclusions:(1) The emotional teaching in class can promote English teaching and improve teaching results effectively..(2) Utilizing the positive effects of the emotional factors can improve students'learning attitude, develop students'positive emotion of English learning.
