This study aimed to investigate the adult higher medical education students' attitudes towards the Global Minimal Essential Requirements in medical education, and self-evaluate the abilities or competences from GMER standard.401 adult medical students including adult diploma education students,resident physicians and general practitioners were surveyed by GMER questionnaires containing three parts, the importance,practical and self-evaluate the abilities or competences. Adopted spss 11.5 as data analysis and processing tool. Primarily through descriptive analysis,one-way ANOVA and correlate analysis to obtain basic research results: adult higher medical students are fairly unacquainted to GMER standard; the importance and practical of Professional Values,Behavior and Ethics,Scientific Foundation of Medicine,Communication Skills domains has gotten general agreement from adult higher medical students, and the results of self-evaluate on these domain are quite well; meanwhile, the rest domains importance and practical has been neglected, moreover the students self-evaluate lacking of three domains abilities and competences which are population health and health systems,management of information and critical thinking and research; there is a significant correlation ship within the importance,practical and self-evaluate result on GMER standard; the attitudes towards GMER standard's importance and practical and the result of self-evaluate in three levels of samples are partly significant differently. According to the research conclusions, some reform suggestions have presented. At first, combining the adult students'peculiarity, change the education conception, broaden the adult higher medical education horizon to jointing the global medical education, Set up an overall talents cultivation scheme. Perfecting the evaluation mechanism and supervising system. With these measures to promote the medical educational internationalization and standardization, improving the quality of medical education and cultivating all-round development adult medical students.
