Research background:Employment is a major event in life, employment for the graduate is not an exception. The graduate and undergraduate students would face different situations in job hunting, due to the characteristics of graduate education and the complexity of the graduate. Therefore, this study focus on the relationship between the barrias caused by subjective career and career exploration behavior.Methodology:Based on the related both at home and abroad. According to the operational definition, combined with the open-ended questionnaires, college students'interviews and the discussion of experts, the author worked out Graduate Students Subjective Career Disability Questionnaire. And the author has investigated 468 graduate students for the survey by the questionnaire.Results:(1) There are significant differences in subjective occupation obstacles and exploratory behavior in occupation between different genders (P<0.05). In the subjective occupation obstacles, there are three aspects in which men are significantly higher women.(2) There are significant differences among the different professional postgraduate students on the exploratory behavior in occupation (P<0.05). In the obstacles of occupation, science students' exploratory behavior in occupation is slightly higher than the students of liberal arts, and significantly higher than that of the engineering students.(3) There are significant differences among the different grade in occupation obstacles and the exploratory behavior of occupation (P<0.05). In the subjective occupation obstacles, the lower grade graduate students suffer more from occupation obstacles, while higher grade gradually decrease. The situation in the exploratory behavior of occupation is just opposite.(4) Location of students does not have much impact on the subjective occupation obstacles (P>0.05). But in the exploratory behavior in occupation, difference between urban and rural does make difference. Among them, urban students scored higher than rural students.(5) Level of education for the parents has significant effects on the occupation obstacles and exploratory behavior in occupation (P<0.05). In the employment guidance, children of highly educated parents are obviously superior to the children whose parents are not well educated.
