Career development expert Super devided career life into four stages: exploratory stage, the creation stage, maintenance stage and the recession stage. Tasks, targets and barriers of four stages are not same, and the completion of the previous stage has much influence to the next stage. In this study, we focus on the barrier of postgraduates at the entrance of their career lives. Making graduate employability and employment inflencial factors questionnaires, verifying its reliability and validity, doing a variety of statistical analysis, we explored perception career barriers of graduates at the entrance of their career life.In this study, 300 senior graduate students of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, which were from 13 different majors covering science, engineering, liberal arts and eco-management, were chosed randomly to fill the questionnaire. After date analysis we found that: (1) The scale has good reliability and validity and can be a measuring tool of follow-up studies. (2) Graduates'employability includes three dimensions. They are positive self-concept, basis qualities and job qualities. Barriers faced by graduates'at the career entrance include three dimensions, namely, positive self-concept, the internal factors and the external factors. (3) Based on study of the employability to the career barriers at the entrance of their career lives, we found, romotions and impediments perceived by graduates'were classified into four categories, namely, the promotions-impediments, the promotions-none impediment, the impediments-none promotion and the tiny-contributing facor. According to their impact on employment, these four factors were on four different levels, namely, the basic level, the necessary level, the trigger level and the pursuit level. (4) Different gender, different disciplines'graduates and ones finding different jobs perceived different promotions and impediments at the career entrance.Finally, based on research findings, advices were given to postgraduates, universities and the employing units. Close cooperation among the three parties, employers can choose talents better. Meanwhile, we hope they can get rid of barriers graduates faced at the entrance of career as far as possible and go into their career life.
