The new curriculum reform of ordinary high school started to activiate in 2004.Formally opened for the first time in senior middle school stage,the biological elective courses will meet many situations and problems in the opening process.This paper will investigate the opening situation of the biological elective courses of senior middle school through the ways of questionaire,actual visiting and interviewing,then analysis the investigation result and form the investigation report.Meanwhile,this paper will compare the opening situation of biological elective courses with the requirement of the"Ordinary High School Biology Curriculum Standards"and look for the possible deviation between them.Finally,this paper will draw its own conclusions and recommendations.Through the investigation and analysising,the conclusions are as follows:(A)The teachers have positive attitude for the elective courses,but the students haven't much enthusiasm on the elective courses.(B)The elective experiments and compulsory experiment didn't have much differences,which couldn't achieve the effect of elective experiments.(C)Most of the schools tend to open the elective 1 modules and elective 3 modules.There aren't many schools open the elective 2 modules.The number of schools that open the school-based curriculum is less.Meanwhile,the biological elective courses usually open in Grade Two or Grade Three(after the compulsory courses have learned) ,which causes the students of liberal arts cann't study biological elective courses.(D)Many students cann't make correct choice on their most benefits elective courses if they didn't know the contents of the elective course and their own career orientation.(E)The university entrance exam has a great influence on elective courses.(F)Many of the frontier knowledge in the elective courses make the teachers feel pressure.(G)The teaching age also has some certain of influence on the opening of the elective courses.In order to make the opening of the elective courses perfect,this paper thinks that the effort should be made from the education departments,schools and teachers.So the suggestions are as follows:First of all,we suggest the education departments have more support of policy,at the same time pay more investment on the laboratory of high school,and try their best to invite experts and professors to provide training for teachers. Secondly,we suggest the schools make the best efforts to open all the three elective modules and some kinds of school-based courses according to the actual conditions of school.The schools should make the elective course and the compulsory courses open simultaneously and make the elective system perfect,at the same time guide the students how to choose courses.Meanwhile,we suggest that more discussions should be conducted between schools to promote teacher's growing.In addition,The school should also help the students to make career planning.Thirdly,we suggest that the teachers should influence the students through their own enthusiasm,at the same time,take the multiple ways of teaching and flexible methods of evaluation to make the students have interested in the elective courses gradually to promote the learning of the elective courses.Meanwhile,we suggest that there should be some try-listened lessons before the opening of the elective courses in which the teachers should explained the knowledge context and the optimal student group.
