The Ministry of National Education issued "The standards of mathematics curriculum in the high school (experimental)"(short for "The standards" in the following) in 2003, and the elective courses is a major bright spot in the reform of the mathematics curriculum.So far, It has been five and six years for Jiangsu and Anhui provinces to carry out the new courses.and what 's the implementation of the elective courses with the characteristic of selection ? How is the sixteen elective topics of Series 3 and series 4 to open ? Beginning with the actual investigation, This paper will get the implementation of the elective courses of math from various angles in the two provinces through questionnaires, interview and other forms , and through study elective topics carefully to discuss the feasibility of the elective topics from the content, and teaching students by choosing the contents of some of the topics to discuss the acceptability of elective topics, then analysing the feasibility of the contents of elective subjects.The paper obtains the following two main aspects of research after sorting out relevant studies and summarize.First, the status of implementation of the elective courses of math in high schools ?By conducting a questionnaire survey and interviews for math teachers in the high school, The paper finds all high schools have opened elective Series 1 and Series 2 strictly according with the requirements of "The standards" in Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, however for ten elective topics of series 4 that most high schools only choose two of them with their contents relating to the college entrance examination to open classes, the rest of the elective topics, including the topics of series 3 have not been opened in the surveyed schools.Second, the impact factors of opening optional courses of math in high schools?This paper will analyse some of the elective topic published by Jiangsu Education Press from the content, role and feasibility,to illustrating whether the elective topics are reasonable for the content, how the acceptability of elective topics of students? and analysing comprehensively about the impact factors of opening elective topics combined with the results of the questionnaire and the interview.The impact factors found in the study are: The first reason is coming from social, The competition on the college entrance examination restricts the school's emphasis and its open on some elective courses, The second is the reasons of teachers, teachers of mathematics in general secondary school have difficulties in understanding and grasping professional knowledge in the topic comprehensively; The third reason is although the elective courses in the subject reflect the times ,ideological, there's some distance between the set of the topics and the acceptance level of high school students.
