As a comprehensive university, the aim of personnel training is to transport industries needed talents for the society. With the development of the era, knowledge and technology that are updated accordingly. Now the social trend of all kinds of overlapping fusion is more and more obvious, the social needed talents can be all-round development of talents. No matter you are engaged in scientific research in the future or directly take part in social practice, unilateral development can not adapt to the development of the society. In order to colleges cope with social work practice, quality of public elective courses in which as an important role, it free elective professional courses for students provides a platform, the purpose that is promote students development of skills, improve the ability to adapt to society and the students’knowledge structure.This study is about the quality of public elective course present situation investigation, in Yunnan University, for example, through to the related literature inquiry, students questionnaire and individual interview, in the perspective of students analysis Yunnan University public quality courses current implementation situation, the existing problems in the course and the relevant countermeasures to solve the problem. The meaning of the research is to develop and enrich the quality of public elective courses education teaching theory, a comprehensive understanding of curriculum development present situation, and make the problem of quality of public elective for teachers and students a correct understanding. In view of the problem put forward the reasonable solution to the problems, to public quality provides the reference for the teaching reform of courses, to be more perfect curriculum system and to promote education teaching work smoothly. The quality of public elective courses at the comprehensive university of the overall curriculum design and implementation has the certain enlightenment and reference.Quality of public elective courses complement professional courses, to provide students a chance to learn their professional knowledge outside, also can meet students curiosity about other discipline knowledge, make students learn more knowledge. Not only can enhance the ability of self-study and independent study, but students to expand their knowledge, promote the all-round development of students, and cultivate more and better services for the local construction with local characteristics of talents play a substantial role.
